|Lori Krueger is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has a BS in Mathematics from Vanderbilt and spent 17 years working in data analytics and programming, eventually moving into management and executive positions. She became interested in psychology and spent a sabbatical year studying at University College in Dublin, Ireland. Lori received her MA in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2011. She completed her post-graduate training at Salvation Army inpatient rehabilitation center. She has also worked for the Collaborative Mental Health Court, serving clients with severe and persistent mental illness who were involved in the criminal justice system.
Through her previous work experience, Lori has honed her skills in analysis and her ability to assess a large amount of information and figure out what story it tells. She enjoys working with individuals and couples. She provides a positive and accepting environment so that together you can explore what you think, feel, value and what your body is telling you. Her practice draws from ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), existential therapy, choice therapy, and emotional, and cognitive work. Her goal is to help people accept themselves and enable them to choose consciously to act in accordance with their deepest values.
Lori identifies as a gregarious introvert. She and her fiancÚ love being at home, watching movies, reading, and playing video games. She also enjoys traveling and visiting friends in England and Ireland. She recently completed a Cultivating Emotional Balance Teacher Training Course, developed by Dr. Paul Ekman at the behest of the Dalai Lama, where she spent 5 weeks at a Buddhist monastery in Tuscany studying Eastern and Western techniques for managing emotions.
