My name is Diane Dameron.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have experience working in nonprofit community service, group practice, and I have spent many years on the military base working with active-duty military members and their families. I have a Bachelor of Science in child development, and a Master of Science in counseling psychology. I have worked at day camps, preschools, and taught child development as an adjunct professor at the community college level. I have lived in San Diego since 1994 and I am proud to be a part of enhancing the quality of life of San Diego citizens.
I work with individuals, couples and families. I enjoy working with all ages, and have a strong focus on working with children, teens and, young people working on launching into their next stage of development. I work with people who present many different life concerns and challenges ranging from anxiety, depression, PTSD, work related stress, family stress, relationship issues and more. I have experience in short term resolution focused counseling, motivational interviewing, CBT, and EFT. I will recognize a client’s individual circumstances, and together we will develop a success-based treatment plan designed to meet short- or long-term goals and objectives and build a pathway to positive change.
It takes courage to reach out for counseling and I work towards providing a quiet and safe space for clients to identify and process their thoughts and build a plan to start and maintain a more positive path for the future. An important component of my work is to set the stage for clients to feel respected and heard and maintain a positive outlook. I look forward to working with you on that journey.
