About Kathleen Winfrey, PMHNP

Kathleen completed her training as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Arizona State University in 2009. Kathy also completed a Master's in Educational Counseling from Northern Arizona University in 2002.

Kathleen brings 15 years of experience as a school nurse working with students with ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, and various mental health issues. She has worked in several pediatric hospitals as an RN prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

As a nurse practitioner, Kathleen has worked in several child/adolescent mental health practices. Her expertise is in treating young patients with depression, anxiety, and developmental disorders. She also worked with college students at The University of San Diego Counseling Center doing mental health assessments and medication management.

Her strengths include empathy, support, and guidance for families and their children who are dealing with developmental and mental health issues. She is passionate about helping children, teens, college students, and their families.
