About Letty Cain Nissan

Letty Cain Nissan is a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 10 years experience working with individuals, couples and families. Letty has a Bachelor of Science in psychology, from the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City. She has a Post Modern Narrative Psychotherapy Degree, and a Masters Degree in Couples Therapy from The “Instituto Mexicano de la Pareja”, in Mexico City.


Being born and raised in Mexico, Letty has experience in Latin-American culture and idiosyncratic issues. Being an immigrant herself, she has deep knowledge of the immigration experience. Letty is also part of several minorities, and understands the feelings associated with being in one. She facilitated a support group of women that suffered from abuse and worked one on one with clients helping them to cope with relationship issues, depression and violence. During her studies Letty assisted and counseled women with high risk pregnancies, offering trust and promoting sharing their fears and possible losses.


Letty worked at the YMCA Youth and Family Services in San Diego for 4 years offering counseling to couples, families, adults, adolescents and kids. She also worked in Community Research Foundation, Del Sur Crisis House, for 3 years as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist.


Letty offers a safe environment in the therapeutic relationship and is an active, compassionate and empathic listener. Her goal is to help clients and guide them to set and accomplish their therapeutic goals, get more self-confidence, acceptance, and a better emotional stability.
