About Lori Baber, LCSW

Hello, I’m Lori Baber! I graduated from the University of Southern California with my Masters of Social Work, and I am a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I also hold Certificates in Sexual Health and Sex Therapy from the University of Michigan. I have been providing therapy/counseling services to individuals, families, and groups for more than eleven years. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, cancer, multiple health diagnoses, trauma, sexual health, body image, grief/grieving and many other types of concerns that are impacting the lives of the people that seek my services. I have provided individual and group therapy to cancer patients, their families, and caregivers as well as provided community education about sexual health, body image, depression and intimacy.. My style is warm, empathetic, and tailored to you and your goals - I am committed to helping alleviate the distress you might currently be experiencing. I provide a safe base for my clients by creating an atmosphere of mutual trust, honesty and transparency. I can assure a talk-space that is free of judgement, that is respectful and that is interactive. I use evidence-based therapies to help people create change and/or resolve the concerns that initiate our working relationship. Together, we discuss the method of therapy that is best suited to addressing your concern and create a treatment plan accordingly. I most frequently use acceptance commitment, cognitive behavioral, solution focused, psychodynamic and humanistic therapies to resolve the concerns that are presented to me. It takes strength and courage to seek assistance and I want you to know that you are not alone, that it is possible to create change and improve your life. By reaching out I know that you are ready for this next step, and I cannot wait to assist you!
