About Michael Feer, LCSW

Since leaving my work in academia in 1971, I have been engaged in serving the high-risk and special needs of several different populations. I have been privileged to provide teaching, counseling, mediation and therapeutic services to individuals, families in agency offices, schools, hospitals, prisons, and recently in virtual screens. Students with severe emotional needs and their families, children, adults and their families impacted with traumatic brain injury and those affected with physical disabilities all have been among those I have closely worked with. Parolees recently released and committed sex offenders had been a specialty practice for several years. For more than 20 years I have also been a professional and community mediator assisting people and agencies to resolve conflicts. I have also made myself available for family therapy in community agencies since becoming licensed ten years ago. In addition, during the recent ten years I have been working more with the military community, in Naval hospitals, high schools serving adolescents and currently military families via Family Forces in telehealth. For ten years I have been a volunteer with a national agency to provide therapy for active-duty Service Members. In summary, I come back to my opening sentence, a commitment to assisting those with high-risk and special needs.
