After 13 years of active duty in the US Navy, Rhonda sought to compliment her "school of hard knocks" with a formal education. In 2006, she received a Master of Arts (emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy) from Chapman University. Rhonda specializes in co-parenting and military culture. As a former service member, co-parent and former dependent of a Navy SEAL spouse, she has a breadth of experience and knowledge that is invaluable. Additionally, she has had experience as a Kids Turn San Diego facilitator, coordinator and consultant from 2007 to 2012. Rhonda utilizes a wide range of theoretical approaches (based on the client's needs and goals). However, she considers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the foundation of her therapeutic approach. She has successfully treated patients that suffer from ADD/ADHD, adjustment issues, anxiety disorders, body image issues, mood disorders, life transitions, OCD, parenting issues, personality disorders, PTSD, relationship issues, low self esteem, trauma and women's issues. Rhonda has also successfully treated at-risk teens, patients involved in high-conflict divorce, and patients who would like to mediate their divorce or establish a parenting plan that does not involve attorneys or the judicial system. In addition to her broad range of life experiences, formal education, and clinical experience, Rhonda is a co-parent to a daughter who was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease. She states, "I have not yet treated a client (at any age) that I could not relate to or genuinely empathize with." Beyond clinical techniques, Rhonda utilizes her sense of humor, intuition, and genuine rapport to help each patient attain their goals and reach their highest potential.
