Robin is originally from the Pacific Northwest and came to San Diego in search of sun in 2005. Robin completed her BA in Anthropology in 1992 from The Evergreen State College and her Masters in Counseling Psychology program at National University in 2014. She has experience working in a private practice setting and as a school-based outpatient therapist. Robin has worked with a variety of children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with anxiety and panic disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, depression and other mood disorders, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, crisis management, at-risk youth challenges, LGBTQ issues, and life transitions.
Robin believes that we all struggle at some point in our lives and that it takes a lot of courage to ask for help. She feels her own personal journey combined with her education allows her to assist clients in an intuitive way. Her genuine warmth and empathy naturally allows people to feel comfortable sharing their feelings in a safe and non-judgmental space. Her theoretical approach is to identify the root cause of the problem(s), identify and work with each person’s strengths, and compassionately guide them toward insight and change. Robin uses many different therapeutic interventions, which she tailors to meet each client’s needs. Robin is passionate about assisting people through their own journey to heal and live a more joyous and authentic life. Having a background in yoga and mindfulness, a creative mind, and an exploratory spirit also shapes how she works with each individual.
