About Romelia Gomez, MFT

Romelia Gomez is bilingual. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern California Seminary. Romelia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 106554). She has vast experience counseling individuals, children, high-risk teenagers, family, couples, and facilitating DV groups, as well as performing assessments, utilizing risk instruments, diagnosing, developing and implementing treatment plans.

She strives to assist people in making the most out of the resources offered to help them succeed independently, even after services have terminated. She has been providing bilingual counseling services to a diverse caseload of people under the supervision of Dr. Kent Layton, Psy.D. Forensic Psychologist.

Romelia has experience in offering Faith-Based Crisis Intervention and therapy based on the client's preference. During session, Romelia takes into consideration the person’s strength, cultural background, belief system and the possible trauma that the person might experience.
