About Scott Casadona, MFT

Scott Casadona is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who began his career as a Psychotherapist in 2011, after a successful 25 year career as a police officer in both NY and CA. Whether working with individuals, couples, groups, or families, he enjoys and connects well with any age group, including elementary age, teens, adults, and seniors. He has experience in private practice, as well as at a school-based day treatment facility, where each student had an IEP with a qualifying social/emotional disability. He has treated clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar, drug/alcohol addiction, obsessive compulsiveness, attention deficit, panic attacks, agoraphobia, eating disorders, cutting, borderline personality, narcissistic personality, suicide attempts/threats, schizophrenia, gender identity, and gay/lesbian issues. In his prior work settings, he gained extensive experience working with clients on the Autism Spectrum. Regarding clients with Asperger’s and high functioning Autism, he has had success using role play and social stories to improve their social skills and contextual insight, as many struggle with anxiety and low self-esteem due to their social deficits and difficulties with empathy and impulsivity. Whatever the issue causing distress, he will maintain a compassionate, non-judgmental approach, and work collaboratively with clients and other mental health professionals to find healthy, empowering strategies to improve their quality of life.
